I have bred and shown Siamese cats for about ten years before going to the dogs. In 1981, the purchase of  a Shetland Sheepdog was the start of WEESKELF KENNELS. Shelties have kept me busy from then up until 1999. It was in 1987 that a red three month old female Min Pin - Frontenac Make My Day - came to WEESKELF. "Terra" taught me how to show Min Pins and she was my first Min Pin Champion!

I am or have been a past President of our local Club - Arnprior Canine Association. I have held the office of a  President, Central Director, Treasurer and Newsletter Editor of the CMPC. I was a member of the MPCA. I am still a member of the CKC since 1982. 

At WEESKELF I am now breeding the Miniature Pinschers but have bred a few litters of German Shepherds. Shelties are also coming back to Weeskelf after 8 years.

The females are only bred every 12 - 18 months, never purposely back to back! The dogs are socialized in that they get to meet lots of people and other dogs when they come to my home for their grooming needs. (My hobby as a groomer keeps me busy too.)

My goal is to truly improve on the Miniature Pinscher breed. Hackney action is disappearing and the size is increasing - both of which breeders should be striving to maintain as that which is in the standard.
My breeding min pins are DNA'd for Legges Perthes and Patella Luxation.

There is a movement starting now to change the Breed Standard to allow for uncropped and undocked Min Pins. The uncropped ear should be changed to "upright and/or tipped ears" as far as I am concerned. The time is coming that Canada will follow all the other countries that are against cropping and docking for show purposes! We should be prepared beforehand and not wait for the last minute to get things done.
